Hey there. So did you know that Matthew McConaughey… you know, Mr. Alright, Alright, Alright… has a newsletter? Turns out Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey has a newsletter on Kit which is kinda a big deal. I’ve been using Kit for my newsletter, my email, and it’s okay. I do like the free plan – it’s free for up to ten thousand subscribers. There are some limitations on it, but I haven’t really found the limitations have hurt me. Back to Matthew. I thought "okay, that's cool" so I subscribed. I thought it was interesting… I think I unsubscribed after three issues. Not that I’ve met Matthew McConaughey, but it did sound like Matthew’s writing, and from what I understand, he is actually writing it. I originally found out about Matthews email from a video with Nathan Barry, the guy who started Kit (formally ConvertKit). In the video Nathan also shared a funny story about how they were doing a Zoom call – like Matthew’s agent and his manager and his publicist – and all of a sudden Matthew pops up. He’s got a headband on, and he’s just walking around his house after just doing a run. Sounded like a very Matthew thing. But it just got me thinking about how many newsletters and emails I get, and then, are there quicker ways to record ones? So like right now, I’m using voice memos on my iPhone. Because with the recent update (and I think it’s iOS 14… uh 14, yes, something like that… 13.4? I don’t remember), they’ve now added a transcription to voice memos. They’d already done that with Apple Notes and brought voice memos into it, but there was an extra step. So I want to see if this is faster. Because if it is, I love the idea of being able to talk out a newsletter email and then turn that around, whether I reformat it or not. I did a video about the other way, about Apple Notes, and it’s really cool. People were asking why I didn’t use Apple AI to reformat it because in the video, I show how I use Gemini and even Google Docs. Well, I just recently turned on Apple AI to play with their image playground, and the first time I used Apple AI to reformat something, I was not impressed at all. Plus, it also copied over what I had, which I don’t like to do. But anyway, I’m just curious. So if I happen to send this out as an email, I would love to get your thoughts. I actually used voice memos on my iPhone to talk this out. Here’s the audio file if you wanna give it a listen. Using Voice Memo with AI-MP3.mp3 And then there is also the script from it as well – the transcript, if you will, which is really this, what you're reading. What do you think? Would you use something like this, which is essentially an AI tool (the transcription part) to create content? Maybe not creating it for you, but helping you do it faster by just talking? Just curious. What do you think? Kevin |

"Show up for someone." I don't remember where I heard that but it stuck with me enough to save it. I'm reminded of that when I think of this picture. Years ago, I went with a group on a mission trip to Honduras (beautiful country and people!). During the week, we spent the day at an orphanage tucked away in the mountains. We had been asked if we could hand out Christmas Boxes from Samaritans Purse that had been delayed in customs, so we did. I can't describe the emotion of seeing these...
This week I was perusing YouTube, as I often do, and I came across a new video from Peter McKinnon. (If you don't know Peter McKinnon, then where you been?) He's an amazing videographer, photographer, and actually started years ago as a magician. He has several businesses other than just being a YouTuber with millions of subscribers. He runs a company called Pirate Life (or something like that), and I think he's even gotten into leather smithing. He's just amazing! In this video, he was...
Hey there. Well, TikTok is banned. No wait, it’s back. Ok, it’s back but maybe not for long? For what it’s worth, I despised the app. (“But Kevin, it has a smart algorithm, people make loads of money, and it’s fun…”) Well for me, it was none of those things. I say “was” because I had a TikTok account. 3 times. And every time, it served me junk and extremely sexual content from day one. For me, the 3rd time wasn’t a charm so I deleted my account and said “later” to it. However you may feel...
